SEP EQUITY

SEP Equity differentiates itself from other equity investor sources through its active management style.

The principals of SEP often personally invest capital and will arrange investor funding from other equity investment sources, usually those with whom SEP has previously worked. SEP Equity has access to a pool of seasoned high net worth investors who add specific skills to investee companies at board level, as well as funding.

SEP typically seeks investment opportunities in early stage enterprises located in Ireland but with international growth plans where better entry-value capital gains can ultimately be realised. Its investment range is usually €150,000 to €2m, although it has participated and invested in larger deals (see Portfolio).

Target investment companies are those:

  • in specific sectors where SEP has expert knowledge, viz. property, media, construction, financial services and information technology, and
  • where SEP can use its strategy skills for the benefit of the target, be it restructuring, bolt-on acquisitions or development into new business areas.

SEP usually takes a very active role in its investments, assisting management inter alia in strategy formulation, next round funding, and operational matters where SEP principals have experience. It will take interim management (3-6 months) roles where required to protect or enhance its investment.

Investment will be considered in buyouts, turnarounds and early stage enterprises.

Creating efficiency and wealth for stakeholders by applying strategy and capital to ideas.
